Mary Street heritage building audits
Gold-era CBD commercial stock carries ACM in eaves, soffits, roofs, wet-area linings and gaskets — plus a workplace register duty under QLD WHS Reg 2011.
Independent asbestos identification, documentation and clearance across the full Gympie Regional Council area — from the heritage Mary Street CBD, through rural acreage in Kandanga and Amamoor, out to Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. One operator, one point of contact.
Gympie was born on the 1867 gold discovery. The Mary Street commercial district and the inner suburbs around One Mile, Monkland and Jones Hill carry a heritage-heavy housing stock, much of it late-1800s and early-1900s timber construction. A large share of this stock was renovated through the 1960s, 70s and 80s — precisely when fibro sheeting, asbestos cement pipes and AC roofing were the default building products.
The rural belt — Kandanga, Amamoor, Imbil, Kilkivan, Widgee, Goomeri — holds decades of pre-1990 farm housing plus shearing sheds, implement sheds, old dairies and accommodation blocks. Asbestos cement sheeting and corrugated fibro are very common on working properties across the Mary Valley and inland Gympie Regional Council areas.
Newer coastal developments at Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach, plus suburban estates in Southside and The Dawn, run a lower risk profile. But anywhere in the Gympie region with pre-1990 construction — and especially properties with multiple outbuildings — asbestos identification should come first, before any pre-purchase, renovation or demolition decisions.
Plus the surrounding townships — if your site is a short drive out, it's a short drive for us.
Every region has its own pattern of jobs. Here's what we see most often in Gympie.

Standard building & pest reports don’t cover asbestos. For Gympie-region acreage with older houses plus outbuildings, a dedicated ACM assessment pre-settlement is smart money.
