A city of heritage Queenslanders, post-war brick and fibro — almost all pre-ban.
Brisbane’s inner-ring suburbs — Paddington, New Farm, Red Hill, Toowong, Bardon, Rosalie, Ashgrove — are built on heritage Queenslanders, many over a century old. These homes have had decades of layered renovations; asbestos cement sheet, AC roofing and fibro wet-area linings are extremely common in the 1960s–80s reno layer sitting on top of the original timber frame.
The post-war brick veneer belt — Chermside, Carindale, Mt Gravatt, Salisbury — was built squarely inside the peak asbestos-cement era. Eaves, soffits, wet areas, pipes, roofing. AC products were the default right through to the mid-1980s. Renovation, demolition and commercial refurbishment works regularly uncover ACM in this stock.
For any Brisbane pre-1990 property — residential or commercial — asbestos identification should precede works. We’re based in the Wide Bay, so Brisbane jobs are quoted individually: scope, site access and travel assessed per job. Most quotes turn around within a business day.
